MEP in Interior Design - a Piece of Art

As an award winning interior design and branding agency, we at Brand Creative have witnessed first hand the increase in popularity of industrial ceilings within the recent decades, but taking it one step further is this superb office in Bangkok. The interior design uses exposed painted electrical conduits and MEP pipework to perfection, creating a dramatic piece of art within the office design.

The bare pipework creates a dramatic backdrop to the interior, emoting fluidity throughout the space as well as being practical in carrying all the services the area requires to function.

Using an exposed open ceiling within the interior has a number of pro’s and it’s great opportunity to get creative. The ceiling height is at a maximum, which is invaluable, especially when designing a small interior. It allows the interior designer to incorporate long hanging pendants or chandeliers. As you are not restricted by height, you can be as creative with the ceiling design as the overall interior design. Connecting lights using exposed electrical conduits & simple shades allows an infinite amount of compositions, giving incredible flexibility allowing the freedom to create unique bespoke wall installations, of not only light but colour too which are both decorative & functional. Bathing any interior in soft warm light, spaces no longer look stark or overtly industrial.

Creating more of a bold statement is this quirky pop up retail design store, which features LED neon wrapped around electrical conduits. The effect almost simulates the flow of electricity for this light fixture, demonstrating a unique example of using light without any electrical cables or conduits visible at all. By simply utilising glowing lights & PVC pipework the interior designers have created dramatic & theatrical retail design that harmoniously blends the lighting into the interior.
