The Pudica Chair - Furniture as art in Interior Design
February 01, 2017
THE PUDICA CHAIR When Design Becomes Art The Pudica Chair is a beautiful piece created by Brazil-based designer Pedro Paulo Venzon. This chair is another attempt of the designer to show us his universe rooted by the rich Braziilian history while keeping his main goal which has been conceiving minimalist objects and artifacts. He has received many awards within the international interior design scene for his creations.
The Pudica is a minimalist piece that merges two different styles; the rational style of the early twentieth century combined with Brazilian Colonial influences. The designer was inspired by curved windows, known as ‘ogival arch’, that were leading architectural features during this era. Its polished look, curved shapes and geometric form give a sublime result, making it the perfect accent chair to suit any interior design concept.
It is possible for statement furniture to transcend it’s original purpose into the realm of art pieces, which is why the work of Pedro Paulo Venzon is so exciting. He finds the perfect harmony between representing his legacy and achieving a cool, high–design aesthetic, inspiring us to bring more design/art pieces in our interiors - purely for the visual appeal. We will definitely be keeping our eyes on this designer, waiting to see what’s next… By Sandra Gillet, Interior Designer Pudica Chair by Pedro Venzon
