World Water Day at Brand Creative - in partnership with Surge for Water

The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) is ranked 10th in the world for countries where water scarcity poses a great risk, even though the U.A.E has one of the highest water consumption rates per capita. Approximately 50% above the global average. And yet, the country aims to reduce its water consumption by 21% by 2030 and to increase the use of renewable energy sources in water production to 44% by 2050.

It's fair to say that the U.A.E government goes above and beyond to ensure a safe, clean, and consistent water source for its people; through impressive desalination plants, rainwater harvesting, cloud seeding, ground-breaking legislation, and so much more.

But there is still much work to be done. Despite the U.A.E's impressive achievements in water management, ongoing challenges such as water scarcity, pollution, and climate change require collective action and innovation. As the citizens of the U.A.E, we can greatly assist the government (and our neighbours) by playing our part in this battle against water scarcity. For instance, reducing water usage by turning off your tap while brushing your teeth, taking a shorter shower and not filling up your bathtub, or fixing leaks inside your house before they pose a greater risk.

An easy and effective method of saving water inside your home is installing a flow-regulator in your tap. This saves water by lowering the water pressure and purifies the water through a smart filter - it also shapes the stream!

Another great contributor to water scarcity is the non-profit organisation Surge for Water - committed to bringing clean water to communities worldwide, by partnering with local organizations and governments to address pollution and the global water crisis through education, innovation and accessible technologies.

By supporting organizations like Surge for Water, and playing our part in conserving our water sources, we can create a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable water future for the U.A.E and beyond.
